Kristin and Genaro got married at the Queen Anne Victorian Mansion. The mansion has beautiful architecture and has the added benefit that it is basically next door to my house
The couple had a very fun reception complete with a swing dance lesson and also did a very nice routine!
Here are some early photos, I will post more when I am done editing.

I also managed to catch the bride for a fun swing dance! She made me look good!

NW Conservatory of Dance hosted their recital last weekend and I had the chance to photograph the performances. They were so fun and it was easy to see how much effort went into creating a show like this! Kudos!!!
Here are some photos:

I had the privilege to photograph Dolly and Santiago’s wedding at Thornewood Castle near Tacoma, a great location! They were such a delight to work with! Even though it rained a lot, the wedding was a lot of fun. The couple had a great dance routine as well! This makes three weddings in a row that I was able to witness a choreographed dance routine. It especially makes me happy as I love photographing dance!
Here are some really quick photos from the wedding - straight out of camera. The photos will be ready in a week or so!

We are in the market for an inexpensive small sedan with decent gas mileage for everyday tasks. I am looking around and some people are so unrealistic. The problem is - they make other people unrealistic too. You can get a brand new one for 16K but the 2 year used one with 40K miles is $14K. Or Dick Hannah Kia listed a 2004 Hyundai Elantra for $12900 (what is wrong with them???).
The problem is you can get a brand new one for pretty much that price with the $1000 incentive. The problem is dealer prices are negotiable and jacked up WAY WAY high, sure, but private sellers look at these prices and jack up their prices. However, they also do not negotiate. Then reason sets in and they end up selling at a lower price (the market value) after months of not being able to sell it but too late for me. By the way, I will definitely skip Dick Hannah - why spend my money with such scammers. Dealers are not necessarily the ones with a conscience but I don’t have to shop at a one that is so obviously out there to get you.
Sorry for the rant!
Every year I enter couple prints to the WPPI competition. What is WPPI?
“WPI (Wedding Photographers International) was founded in 1980, with one purpose in mind, to better meet the educational needs of wedding photographers. In the early 90’s, portrait photographers became a significant part of the association’s profile and WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) became reality.
WPPI has grown to be the largest trade show and convention in professional photography. As an association we’ve grown too, working hard to meet the needs of wedding, portrait, commercial, photojournalism and fine art photographers.”
I won a second place award at the Wedding and Portrait Photographer’s International Awards of Excellence competition.
The competition has thousands (if not tens of thousands) entries each year. Couple years ago I won first place in Wedding Humor category (on my first try) and this year I won second place in the much more competitive Wedding Photojournalism category, among the world’s best photographers. I feel truly honored with this selection!
Here is the winning image - in my opinion it captures that perfect moment!

I finished Renee and Savio’s wedding images at the Madonna Inn. This was a very fun wedding and we even get to play at the beach. Renee is the photo editor of Fresno Bee so I was especially honored to shoot their wedding.
You can see a slide show with music at my Portland wedding photography site but here are some highlights. By the way, I am trying this new music slide show format for the first time, so please let me know what you think!
