Niran and Gary at Casa Las Palmas II, Punta Mita

As soon as I met Niran and Gary, I knew we would have a great time and that we would have some amazing photos! I met them for the first time at Calypso Restaurant for the rehearsal dinner. At the rehearsal dinner, there was an AMAZING animated video done by one of their friend’s that detailed their relationship. It was funn, and romantic, and brought a ton of tears and laughter. Kudos! I love to get a copy of that!

Niran loved animals, and she used pictures of her dog to highlight some of the pars of their wedding celebration. The place cards were highlighted by her dog’s pictures. Some of the other cool ideas they had were: hanging pictures detailing their romance on a clothesline, like a timeline, a polaroid guest book, beautiful shells hanging from the tree they got married in front of. There was a great band, and later some of the couple’s musicians friends took over and sang for them as well. How fun! There was even pastor tacos for the guests! Catering was by Don Pedro’s. Everything was expertly organized and ran by Sayulita Dream Weddings‘ Andrea.

Casa Las Palmas II is an amazing location at Punta Mita. It reminds me a little bit of Rancho Huracan that I shot earlier. The bathroom that Niran was getting ready is probably bigger than my entire studio, and had some amazing architecture and light. You can see some pictures I did using that focused light in the photos.

Overall, this was a great time!

Amy and Larry’s Wedding at The Tides, Zihuatanejo

Amy and Larry’s The Tides Hotel wedding at Zihuatanejo was my 3rd wedding of this Mexico trip - I flew in from Puerto Vallarta and joined them at The Tides Hotel. As a Zihuatanejo wedding photographer, I love shooting at the Playa Ropa beach. The boys were hanging out, drinking some Johnny Walker Blue Label, and having a great time in general. I then went to photograph beautiful Amy and her group getting ready and got some great black and white’s. Since this was a Jewish wedding in Mexico, the bride and groom got together and signed the Ketubah. It was a beautiful Zihuatanejo wedding at the beach, with the sun setting right behind them. Just perfect!

The The Tides hotel wedding reception was fun packed, and hora, the chair dance, was very energetic! The wedding party went on for a very long time! There were fireworks, and a whisky bar was frequently visited by the guests!

Nikki and Lynn’s Wedding at Playa de los Muertos

Nikki and Lynn had a very fun wedding at relaxed Sayulita. The night before everybody gathered at La Terrazola, a very relaxed atmosphere and I got to meet the bride and groom. I immediately knew this will be a very easy going, fun wedding full of nice people.

The wedding ceremony itself was at sunset at Playa los Muertos, and the reception was immediately following at Don Pedro’s Palapa overlooking the Sayulita Bay. Wedding was coordinated by talented Luz Ochoa from Sayulita Weddings. They had a great Cuban band, and lots of dancing followed. The speeches were greeted by tears. The food was also amazing with tons of different options including al pastor tacos (my favorite!!!). The night ended with a great fireworks show!

Associate Coverage: Jill and Brenden’s Beautiful Sayulita Mexico Wedding

Jill and Brenden were childhood sweethearts that decided to get married overlooking the great Pacific Ocean in Sayulita Mexico.  Their ceremony was held on Don Pedro’s Palapa on a hill overlooking both Sayulita and Playa de los Muertos.  Their Mexican wedding included a mariachi band and a cigar roller making handmade cigars during the reception that everyone enjoyed.

Amber and Matt at Mar Plata, San Pancho

Amber and Matt tied the knot at Villa de Roja, directly off the beach! The reception was at the beautifully decorated amazing Mar Plata Restaurant. In my opinion, Mar Plata is one of the best restaurants I have been to, so if you are in the Sayulita, Punta Mita, Bucerias, Puerto Vallarta or Nuevo Vallarta area, make sure to visit them. It is worth a trip!

Here is the coolest thing: the wedding party was accompanied by a super friendly dog the whole week, and he invited himself to the wedding and the reception too. In fact, the doggie was so loved, Amber and Matt adopted him and he is arriving in US soon!

Taylor and Nathan’s Fall Wedding at McMenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse (Associate Coverage)

Taylor and Nathan were married at the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse in Hillsboro.  I love shooting this area, it’s so woodsy and romantic!  They were married in the old octagonal barn nestled within the changing leaves of fall.  Their ceremony was overlooked by a wise old barn owl perched in the rafters above the couple.  Taylor and Nathan prepared all the decorations for the event.  I especially love the mason jars with candles they used to light the interior of the barn with, but the pumpkins are pretty cool too!

Rachel and Andy at Acadian Ballroom!

Rachel and Andy tied the knot at the Acadian Ballroom, a classy ballroom for wedding receptions at Portland’s Alberta Arts District. Getting ready was at the Heathman Hotel, which provided some great window lighting for beautiful b&w pictures. We stopped by the Park Blocks for some portraits where Andy saw Rachel for the first time and could not hold back his tears. We got some more photos in front of the Oregon Historical Society and then headed to the Acadian Ballroom! The ballroom was beautifully decorated for the ceremony and then immediately after the ceremony, it was quickly switched by the talented staff to the reception seating.

Couple cute highlights from the wedding: The couple asked the guests to leave their favorite recipes for them (picture below), and also they made some goodie bags for the little ones to have a good time at the wedding!

Rachel and Andy put some beautiful pictures on the tables from their past couple years, and the cake table had pictures of their parents and grandparents pictures of cutting cake (cake by Beaverton Bakery).  Tables were decoratedby beautiful flowers from Sophisticated Floral Designs.
