Corinna and Julie’s Commitment Ceremony at a Christmas Tree Farm in Salem, Oregon!

Corinna and Julie tied the knot at the family Christmas tree farm. It was a beautiful affair! Julie had a custom suit made for herself at Duchess, a custom vintage inspired suit maker. Corinna had a beautiful colorful dress as well, and it was made by Elizabeth Dye at English Depot. Julie arrived at the wedding on a Kubota ATV driven by the two ring bearers!

One of the highlights was that the drinks were made by Mint Restaurant/Bar.  Corinna told me that it was one of the first things they booked. The cocktails looked great and the guests really enjoyed them. What a cool idea! The catering was by Wild Pear catering in Salem, they did a great job! DJ was Dj Beyonda.

We later did a great photo shoot with Corinna’s sister’s horse. I love horses, so that was really fun for me!

Karen and James Engagement Pictures

Karen and James drove down from Seattle to get their engagement pictures taken. They are getting married at Edgefield Attic and we are very excited to shoot their wedding!

We love doing engagement sessions. It gives us a chance to get to know our couples. It is also really beneficial to our couples because they get to know us, and get used to being photographed.

Christy and Brian’s Maui Hawaii Wedding

Christy and Brian decided to have their wedding at a beautiful, sunny location - Maui, Hawaii!

The wedding was set at the beach - right before Christy started walking down the “aisle”, a very short rain came down. It was all worth it though because there was a spectacular rainbow! You can see it below! During the reception, the catering manager pulled out his ukelele and started singing - what a beautiful voice!

A wedding in Maui was also a great reason for the guests to visit Hawaii! Since it was such an intimate group, everybody had a great time!

Hanh & John’s Zihuatanejo Wedding

Zihuatanejo is one of my favorite places to visit. Situated near Ixtapa, a major resort and wedding destination, Zihuatanejo is much more relaxed and is less built up. It has some amazing beaches like Playa Ropa and Playa Las Gatas.  Zihuatanejo means “place of women” because it was a matriarchal society. If you ever end up at Zihuat, make sure to try tritas, an appetizer made with curing fish with lime juice. It is somewhat similar to ceviche in that aspect, but it tastes much different and I like it better!

I was originally scheduled to shoot Hanh and John’s Zihuatanejo wedding in May. I flew to Mexico and swine flu hit Mexican tourism. A lot of companies stopped their employees from flying into Mexico as a precaution. Hanh and John were ready to go with it, but unfortunately a lot of family and friends would not be able to make it - so they had to reschedule to summer. La Quinta Troppo was very accommodating for the wedding and Hanh and John kept a positive attitude about it. It ended up working even better as some of the family members who would not be able to make it to Zihuatanejo wedding in May due to their schedule were able to make it to La Quinta Troppo in July. weddings at Zihuatanejoare super fun so that was great!

When I went to the Los Angeles airport for my connection, I realized I was flying with the bride and groom and the wedding party! I actually ended up sitting right next to them. I whispered to the flight attendants that they were getting married, and they made an announcement and rest of the flight there were free drinks for the couple! Great start!

The first few pictures are from the rehearsal dinner, at La Parla restaurant at Playa Ropa, the same beach they got married the next day. Playa Ropa, along with Las Gatas beach,  is one of my favorite places to shoot a beach wedding ceremony as well. The sun is perfect and not too many people wondering.

The next day at Zihuatanejo was gorgeous as well - I started the day by photographing a boudoir session. Hanh is a very elegant bride, which made my job so much easier.  The ceremony was at the beach at sunset.

One of the things I love about Zihuatanejo destination weddings is that the guests are usually a small, but really intimate and fun group. We really bonded well.

One of the most amazing part of the wedding was at the very end. Hanh and John invited a group that performs traditional Mexican dances from different regions of Mexico. You can see the amazing Mexican traditional dance and dancers at the end! They looked fantastic in their costumes. As a dance photographer, I loved that I was able to capture these!

Preview - Jamie and Jordan at Mount Hood Bed and Breakfast

Here are some quick pictures as a preview for Jamie and Jordan’s wedding at the gorgeous Mt. Hood Bed and Breakfast.  The catering was by Simpatica and they did a great job. One of the highlights was the amazing pie’s. Serving pie instead of cake is becoming more popular, and from what I tasted so far, I have no problem with that!

Treasury Ballroom Wedding of Leslie and Nick (Associate Coverage)

Leslie and Nick had their wedding in Portland on the rooftop of the Portland Historic Treasury Ballroom. We love rooftop weddings in Portland!

We got some great ceremony shots of Leslie and Nick featuring some of Portland’s more famous buildings on top of the rooftop terrace of Portland Treasury Ballroom. For their wedding cake, they had a great idea - truffles from a uniquely Portland chocolatier, Moonstruck Chocolates Truffles! After the wedding ceremony, the guests enjoyed great catering of food and drinks by Vibrant Table while Andy, from A Sound Choice was making the dance floor come alive with the wedding guests with his mixes! We also did some pictures of the wedding couple in front of Portland Treasury Ballroom!
