Idil, a high school classmate of mine from Robert College got married to Greg in a New York wedding ceremony and reception. They had elements of Turkish and Jewish traditions. The ceremony was at the Brooklyn Heights Synagogue, and the reception was Pera Mediterranean Brasserie (which is run by another high school classmate of mine, Burak Karacam). Idil specializes in social media and has a new book coming out. Greg is a very talented abstract painter. They make a lovely couple.
Quite a few Turkish relatives and friends also made the trip from Turkey. One touching moment was when Idil’s father saw a relative he has not seen for over 3 decades. There was no shortage of belly dancing as well!

I photographed the annual corporate party of Vibrant Table catering. It was at the super fun Oaks Amusement Park in Sellwood, which is a cool amusement park with roller coasters, bumper cars and just about everything else fun! There was even a Sumo wrestling showdown between the staff! It was awesome! I love photographing Portland corporate parties where the staff gets to get crazy!

We had a blast on Portland’s South East waterfront near OMSI. There was even a cool Portland Fire Department boat docked on the pier, we just had to get a photo with it! That area is so cool, especially the industrial area with all the warehouses and train tracks!

We met up with Samantha and Kevin and decided to stay out of the rain in Portland’s finest hotels. We went by the Hotel Deluxe and captured their classic Hollywood beauty. Then off across town to the Nines Hotel to capture some modern beauty. The rain let up just enough to go by the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall and get a classic Portland shot.

We had a chance to hit the waterfront right after the Rose Festival, it was nice to have the whole place to ourselves after such a busy week. Portland never runs out of cool locations for photos!
