Wish Upon a Wedding

I was fortunate enough to shoot Wish Upon A Wedding’s Portland Chapter launch party. I love being a charity or fundraiser photographer at events like these!

This is from Wish Upon A Wedding’s website:

“As the World’s first nonprofit wedding wish granting organization, Wish Upon a Wedding provides weddings at destinations across the United States for individuals facing life-threatening illness. (Applicant must provide medical documentation stating a diagnosis of less than 3 years to live). It is a chance for couples to enjoy a very special day, without any thoughts of existing health issues, while surrounded by their closest family and friends.”

So if you want to donate your services, please contact Nadia Ly of Creations by Ly who was very instrumental in organizing this event.

Vibrant Table’s BBQ and Sumo Corporate Party at Oaks Park

I photographed the annual corporate party of Vibrant Table catering. It was at the super fun Oaks Amusement Park in Sellwood, which is a cool amusement park with roller coasters, bumper cars and just about everything else fun!  There was even a Sumo wrestling showdown between the staff!  It was awesome!  I love photographing Portland corporate parties where the staff gets to get crazy!

Disquieted Exhibit - Portland Art Museum Reception

I had the pleasure of photographing the Portland Art Museum’s Disquieted exhibit opening reception/gala. The exhibit itself is fantastic (runs until May 16th), and the reception was too. It was catered and designed by Vibrant Table Catering

, and the lighting was exceptional. The wine was donated kindly by Hawks View Cellars, a wonderful vineyard in Sherwood. I had the pleasure of actually working with Kemp family couple years ago, and it was nice to see them again! There was a nice speech by Brian Ferriso, the director of the Portland Art Museum as well!

Portland NACE Event

I had the pleasure of attending the Portland NACE event at the Lawrence Gallery. The sponsors for this event were myself and Lawrence Gallery, Vibrant Table, Torii Mor Winery, Sweet Masterpiece Chocolates, Garden Vineyards. Everything went great, and Jules Rupae from Another Perfect Production and Kristina Lazos from Hilton ran the show expertly!

Here is a link to the whole set of photos.

Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams Grand Opening

I had the pleasure of photographing the the grand re-opening of the renowned furniture brand Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams on West Burnside. The event was also a fundraiser for the Q-Center.

The event was expertly catered by Vibrant Table, and DJ’ed by Lady Bunny (some of you may recognize from movie Wigstock). Mayor Sam Adams did the ribbon cutting with Bob Williams. Two excellent scotch cocktails were served by the talented bartenders.

The Portland store was a licensed store that was privately owned and operated, but now it will be owned and run by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams.

Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams is a very environmentally friendly company, and they have also been recognized for their philanthropic work. They help those with life-challenging illnesses through groups including the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. And they are seen as a major force for gay rights by many, including The Human Rights Campaign, where Mitchell served on the Board for seven years, Out magazine, which named him to 2007’s “Top 50 Most Powerful Gay People in America”, and The Advocate, which gave him a 2006 “People of the Year Award.”

You can see the whole event here and purchase prints. The event code is “mgbw” (no quotes).

Getting Ready for Corporate Parties!

If your company has Christmas Holiday parties or any other holiday event, please keep in mind that we are available for photographing them! Last year we did quite a few, and also worked with many top companies such as Microsoft, so you can rely on us to photograph your company’s holiday party! We also have a photo booth set up as well!

La volupté du goût Opening Gala at The Portland Art Museum

Portland Art Museum’s recent exhibit, La volupté du goût: French Painting in the Age of Madame de Pompadour will be open from February 7 - March 17, 2009. To celebrate the exhibit, Portland Art Museum put on a gala. Curated by Philippe Le Leyzour, Director, Musée des Beaux-Arts, Tours, and Penelope Hunter-Stiebel, Consulting Curator of European Art, Portland Art Museum. The Portland installation design and interpretation were led by Chief Curator Bruce Guenther and Tina Olsen, Director of Education and Public Programs. This exhibition has received major organizational support from FRAME (French Regional and American Museum Exchange).

Vibrant Table did a tremendous job in decorating the event. Everything was top class. The resulting affect was amazing and it was one of the most wonderfully designed events we’ve ever seen produced from Vibrant Table! Music by Ruslan String Quartet and Design Band!

Here’s some of our favorite highlights from the event:
