I did some portraits of the super cute Gabby, a fantastic 1 year old with great parents! I love taking baby pictures, especially using natural light. I am really not a big fan of the standard studio background portraits because I love capturing children at their natural state.
I am especially in love with vintage looking portraits so that is an area I will be working on that style even more!By the way, I have some great news - my new portrait website is coming online soon with some great shots. While I was in Istanbul, I wanted to do some bridal shots that feature this beautiful old city.
I used some connections and met with a model and a fashion house. The gowns and dresses are from Catwalk Moda Evi on Bagdat Street in Istanbul, model is Arzu Yonak (who is available for photo shoots in USA as well as Turkey), and hair and make up is by Ece. It was fun to go around in historic Istanbul and get some fun shots. I had very limited equipment with me for this shoot but I am very pleased with the results. We went to Aya Sofya (Hagia Sofia), Bogazici (Bosphorus), and Ortakoy areas, as well as the castles (”surlar” area). Here are the pictures from my Istanbul shoot:

We had the pleasure of photographing talented designer Young-Hee Shin’s fashion show at the Wonder Ballroom about a week ago. It was lots of fun to shoot the getting ready, the preparations and various designs she has created and I made lots of contacts with models. Rebecca wanted some more shots of her with her wedding dress but in a more relaxed setting than her wedding day allowed. So we shot some more portraits of her recently! Here is one:
Despite the fact that this blog is very wedding heavy, I do a lot of other types of photography as well. Bar Mitzvah’s, band photography, fashion and runway, business and actor headshots and corporate events are just a few. Here is a recent photo shoot with Jenny for her blues band called Blue Hour. It was one of the coldest evenings of the year but Jenny was a trooper! My hands were glued to the metal camera body and took me hours to warm up later. The results are worth it though!

I recently did family portraits of Lorrell, Charmin and Jim in Portland and we got some great photos. I love doing children’s portraiture as well!
Even though currently we are mostly known for weddings, we do a lot of portraits as well. In fact, this month has been very busy for maternity and baby portraits, along with headshots and even did a model photoshoot.
