I came across this video of crashers stealing photographer’s equipment (and thus, images of the wedding as well). I always keep my images on me to avoid such situations.

I just shot an awesome wedding in Ixtapa! We almost did a skydive with the groom to the ceremony but decided against it due to logistic issues. I was shooting some photos of them on jet ski and then did some more at the beach. Check this one of me shooting (taken by my talented assistant Arian):

I am sure most of you followed the search for Kim family and esp. of James Kim who gave his life to find help for his family. It makes me really really sad and I wish it ended better.

I shot some pictures of The Bravery at concert at the Crystal Ballroom. They are one of the few bands whose album I bought recently. I have thousands of songs and cd’s and most of new stuff sounds the same to me but I like their sound. I am big New Wave fan and their sound is very similar. It was a good show and the gang at Crystal - Travis etc. were super cool and easy to work with. Thanks guys!
Here are some cool shots.

Portland Band Photography is something I am very interested in.
The opening reception of my exhibit went very very well! The whole place was packed. Thank you to all who stopped by!!!
Just so you know, my dance photos will be up until the end of the month at Ringler’s Annex, if you still want to check it out!
I am doing an exhibit at Ringler’s Annex this upcoming First Thursday. Here is the press release:
Dance Photography Exhibit by Evrim Icoz at Ringlers Annex, Portland
“McMenamin’s Ringlers Annex hosts a reception for this month’s exhibit, which features work by award-winning photographer Evrim Icoz. This exhibition focuses on dance, shot in a variety of forums, from weddings receptions to parties to live performances. ”
Hope to see you there! I am planning on mixing my dance photographs from various sources, like pictures at the Crystal Ballroom, Tango Pictures and also some photographs from wedding receptions! It will be a VERY busy week while I am trying to get everything ready!
I am changing web hosts to a much more reliable host. However, in the next 24 hours, email access might be a little unreliable for me, so if you do not hear from me, you can call me or try emailing again.
Thanks for your patience!
Every year I try to donate to Oregon food bank near Thanksgiving. There are so many people who work full time and still can’t afford food for their family, so as part of thanking for the things I am given, I try to help. A little reminder always helps for me, so I thought I would do the same here.
If you can afford to, please donate to your local food bank this Thanksgiving! Esp. after the Hurricanes, food prices have increased not to mention fuel prices that makes it harder for the needy. Think about how much you will spend on black Friday sales and even a tiny amount of that will make a difference for a lot of people!
Our food bank is:
http://www.oregonfoodbank.org/
Here is a link that has some state by state listing, but the best bet is to search Google with state name + food bank
make a difference!
Please spend couples seconds and click on the food bank link above and make a small donation, even $10-25 whatever!
