I love Zihuatanejo - it is probably my favorite location in Pacific coast of Mexico. I have photographed a wedding at The Tides Hotel before for Amy and Larry’s Playa La Ropa wedding and really enjoyed it, so I was very excited when Alexandra and David, a lovely couple, booked me for their wedding.
They really had a great, low key and fun wedding, where everybody enjoyed themselves. The weather was perfect, the food was excellent! I had my first nacatamale as well! I started the photography with the beach activities the day before and the rehearsal dinner. After the rehearsal dinner, there was a bonfire at the beach, and David serenaded his beautiful bride all night long with his guitar! The next day was equally fun, with another great sunny day, margaritas, and mariachis and dancing until the end. For their first dance, the dance floor was lit a beautiful blue color! And there was even a pinata to smash!

Julie and Jonathan had their rehearsal dinner at Calypso Restaurant in the heart of Sayulita, Mexico. Calypso is an amazing place with great food that’s perfect for these gatherings. The next day we headed to the beautiful Villa De Oso for the wedding. What a spectacular venue! We got a chance to work with our friends at Sayulita Dream Weddings, they are great! The wedding was a mix of Mexican fiesta with Jewish traditions, basically a lot of fun. To top off the evening there was a cool fireworks display and a sweet ice cream and candy bar!

Here are some pictures from Rachel and Jon’s wedding at their condo. They both spent countless hours to landscape and decorate, and the results were gorgeous. This was very much a home made affair, from decorations to food to drinks. They are both avid swing and tango dancers. Jon got his vintage inspired Duchess (and was featured in the Oregonian as well!). Rachel looked dazzling in her dress! The whole affair was retro inspiration done right. We did a quick portrait session for them!
Oh and I think Rachel’s ring is one of the most unique rings I ever seen!

Portland does not have a lot of rooftop wedding venues. So when we I heard that Melissa and Minh were going to have their wedding at DeSoto Rooftop Terrace, I was very excited!
The wedding was tons of fun. It was a beautiful day and Melissa and Minh turned their backyard into a beautiful wedding site. The guests were a very friendly bunch. There were even couple Turkish people there, which was really cool. Grandpa was the ring bearer and did a great job! It was also interesting to see a twin lens reflex camera. Melissa’s sister Airyka is also a professional photographer and was shooting with a Yashica TLR. Meanwhile at the house, I had the pleasure of seeing Minh’s photography as well. Great job!
Minh gave each flower girl an ukelele! They loved them! The couple went from the ceremony at their house to the wedding reception at Desoto Rooftop Terrace with pedicabs! It was fun.
And during the formals, we had a visitor from Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence!
The guests were welcomes at the ceremony and reception by a gypsy jazz / swing band, and it was fun to see some of the familiar faces.

Tiffany and Thomas were married at the elegant Fairgate Inn in Camas Washington. It was a great ceremony officiated by their friend, but what’s even more unique is that the officiant used his iPhone instead of traditional methods, including Thomas’ vows were on it. The reception was filled with fun dancing and ice cream from Party Scoop, a photobooth from Paparazzi Tonight and a grand sparkler send off!

Afif and Elizabeth’s wedding as a high energy wedding with lots of kids and belly dancing! Ceremony was at Calvary Lutheran Church at Stayton.
During the reception, Elizabeth started doing some middle eastern/belly dancing as well. There were beautiful hand written prints on the walls at the reception. Also, bride’s sister, Jae, is a very talented singer / songwriter. She was singing during the first part of the processional which was very special for the family.
