Sedef and Jesse had a wonderful wedding at the Manuel Antonio National Park beaches at Costa Rica! I had photographed Sedef’s sister’s wedding couple years ago in Punta Mita in Puerto Vallarta area, and I am very happy I ended up photographing Sedef’s as well!

Pearson Air Museum Wedding of Rebecca and Martin

Rebecca and Martin’s wedding at the Pearson Air Museum was an elegant affair with world food touches and lots of flying related activities. Our bride Rebecca was looking gorgeous in her vintage bridal dress and Martin looked very dapper with a top hat and a cane. The wedding ceremony was at the All Saints Parish of Portland, Oregon, and then everybody moved to the Pearson Air Museum. There were many stations for food from different regions of the world for world cuisine. There was also a room for flight simulator for the guests. The model airplanes were a favorite with the guests, and they were flying all over!

Maui Wedding of Curran and Jennie

Curran and Jennie, a lovely couple I have known for a while from Seattle tied the knot in Maui at a private villa called Kukahiko Estate. Jennie looked very elegant in her gorgeous dress from Luly Yang Couture.

The wedding planner, Your Aloha Wedding Company’s Kara Byrne was very easy to work with and made sure things ran smoothly! It was a simple, Hawaiian style ceremony at the Maui Island, short and sweet. Pastor Vance Rosete played the Pū (the conch shell) at the beginning of the ceremony. In Hawaii, Pū is a deep part of the Hawaiian culture, and is used before a ceremony to mark the official beginning. In modern days some blow the Pū (conch shell) to say Goodbye at sunset to end the day and to say Mahalo (thanks). In this case, both meanings were satisfied as it was a sunset ceremony!

And yes, what a sunset. We took full advantage to do some sunset photos at this beautiful Maui day. I love the soft light that comes with sunsets, and we managed to get some dramatic looks before everyone stopped to watch the sun disappear in to the ocean. After that the party started - Aloha Events Catering made sure everyone was fed well - no complaints from anyone! And then the cupcakes and dancing went on until late at this Maui wedding.

Anacortes / Whidbey Island Wedding

Here are some pictures I have done near Anacortes / Whidbey Island. I love that area and was glad I got to shoot there. Deception pass is one of my most favorite places. It is a magical location in many ways. I love beach weddings, especially intimate beach weddings. This was at the bride’s parents house and a VERY small affair.

Portland Winter Engagement Session

I had the pleasure of photographing Lindsay and Aaron’s engagement session last week. they recently moved to Florida, but were in town for couple days, so we all braved the cold and headed to Lindsay’s parents bicycle shop, Waterfront Bikes. It is a ebautiful shop built in to an old brick building. They have a wide variety of bicycle rentals, incluyding tandems, and also fix bikes and sell gear. I will be visiting them ffor sure. We took out one of their tandem bikes, a Torker Bermuda Tandem, and headed to waterfront.

After that, the next stop was the Oregon Ducks shop. Both Lindsay and Aaron are big Oregon Ducks fans, so we had a lot of fun shooting in front of the store! More will come, this is just a teaser from their engagement pictures.

Timberline Lodge Wedding

Kristy and Chase, two very cool, outdoorsy and athletic people, chose to get married on the snowiest day in 4 years at the Timberline Lodge at Mt. Hood - a New Year’s Eve wedding. I ended up renting an SUV to make it, and we had a ton of fun. I had some of my favorite pictures of the year that day. Kristy is quite the trooper, she looked marvelous in her gown and braved the cold for a ceremony of just the two of them. I ended up being a witness as well (I am also ordained, by the way!). Imago Ballroom

Imago Theater is a great location that I went swing dancing many times. I was pleasantly surprised when I heard Vibrant Table and Food in Bloom transformed the Imago Theater Ballroom in to a wonderful place to have wedding reception and ceremonies. A great collaboration!

We took our camera to the open house at Imago Ballroom last week and took some pictures so you can see how beautiful the location is. I love how creative the team at Vibrant Table and Food in Bloom are - to emphasize that this is a theater as well, they had actors in costumes roaming. The food was of course delicious.

Wedding Vow Renewal at El Farallon, Cabo San Lucas

I have known Allie and Corey for a very long time, since I photographed their wedding. Since then, I was honored to photograph their children growing up and now their wedding vow renewal at El Farallon, Cabo San Lucas Capella Pedregal. It was a relaxed event, with a sunset vow renewal ceremony at the beach at Cabo San Lucas and a fun reception at the El Farallon restaurant.

Lauren and Ryan’s Portland Lan Su Classical Chinese Gardens Wedding

Lauren and Ryan tied the knot at the gorgeous Portland Lan Su Classical Chinese Gardens. It was a super fun wedding, coordinated by Kerry Garrow of Signature Weddings and Events. The other vendors for this Portland Chinese Gardens wedding were like a best of the wedding vendors in Portland. Lauren and Ryan wanted a Portland theme wedding and allocated enough time for us to go around town on Portland wedding pedicabs (Portland Pedicabs). We got some amazing pictures going around town. The beautiful bridesmaids and handsome groomsmen did their part in making the day run smoothly as well! The getting ready was at Hotel Lucia. After Hotel Lucia, the wedding moved to Chinese Gardens. I had some unique toasting images and instead of the cake, they had amazing cupcakes from Cupcake Jones. The crowd danced until late hours with help from amazing DJ Eric Wright of All Wright Music. Delicious food was served on bamboo platters - perfect for the theme and the environment, thanks to Vibrant Table Catering and Events. Flowers are by A Floral Affair.
