I love Zihuatanejo - it is probably my favorite location in Pacific coast of Mexico. I have photographed a wedding at The Tides Hotel before for Amy and Larry’s Playa La Ropa wedding and really enjoyed it, so I was very excited when Alexandra and David, a lovely couple, booked me for their wedding.
They really had a great, low key and fun wedding, where everybody enjoyed themselves. The weather was perfect, the food was excellent! I had my first nacatamale as well! I started the photography with the beach activities the day before and the rehearsal dinner. After the rehearsal dinner, there was a bonfire at the beach, and David serenaded his beautiful bride all night long with his guitar! The next day was equally fun, with another great sunny day, margaritas, and mariachis and dancing until the end. For their first dance, the dance floor was lit a beautiful blue color! And there was even a pinata to smash!

Amy and Larry’s The Tides Hotel wedding at Zihuatanejo was my 3rd wedding of this Mexico trip - I flew in from Puerto Vallarta and joined them at The Tides Hotel. As a Zihuatanejo wedding photographer, I love shooting at the Playa Ropa beach. The boys were hanging out, drinking some Johnny Walker Blue Label, and having a great time in general. I then went to photograph beautiful Amy and her group getting ready and got some great black and white’s. Since this was a Jewish wedding in Mexico, the bride and groom got together and signed the Ketubah. It was a beautiful Zihuatanejo wedding at the beach, with the sun setting right behind them. Just perfect!
The The Tides hotel wedding reception was fun packed, and hora, the chair dance, was very energetic! The wedding party went on for a very long time! There were fireworks, and a whisky bar was frequently visited by the guests!

I met Stephanie and Jared at Joella and Drew’s wedding - we hit it off and they hired me to do their wedding at Ixtapa. It worked out great since I had a wedding a week after theirs in Mexico so I just stayed.
The wedding party is mostly skydivers so Jared and his groomsmen skydived to the wedding. One of them almost took me out actually while landing. It probably looked closer through the lens than it really was. Regardless, we had tons of fun, and there was even a fiesta after the wedding at the hotel square, and we stayed up until late with the wedding party.
The next day we did some day-after photos, even rented jet ski’s which was supposed to be the most dangerous part but it worked out well. However while shooting in knee deep water, I got attacked by a sneaky wave - there goes my camera and lens! You can see the photo of it couple posts down.
