I am trying something new. After every wedding, I will try to post couple fun images very quickly as a preview. Not necessarily the best ones, just something to remember by. They are not worked on, mostly straight out of camera. But I think it will be fun for the couples to have some images from the wedding while they are waiting for the editing magic 
I will also not necessarily pick the best ones, I still want to keep the excitement going. What do you think? A good idea?

In case you are wondering what this next photo is about, it is a family tradition where they kidnap the bride. This is the first time they actually managed to do it. Kirk tried to rescue Angie bravely but she was already kidnapped by her brothers and taken away by pickup truck. I have a great sequence of this. ps. gotta love the red shoes!

This is me stealing a dance with the bride. Angie and Kirk are excellent swing dancers and put on a great show! The band was Art Abrams which is I think the top big band in the area. I have been swing dancing for about a decade now (wow, I feel old!!!) so it is always fun to grab a dance!
Location: The LDS Mormon Temple and then Ambassador Ballroom at Tigard Ballroom.
Portland is a very relaxed area. WE do not have a very high rate of crime, or too many organized crimes. However, it is very easy to see that weddings are a very easy place to target for thieves. Here are two blog posts about thieves making it a career targeting weddings. They steal money envelopes, gifts, purses from getting ready rooms, and photographer/dj/videographer’s gear. In the event of money and gear, you can sometimes replace it. But the images stolen are not replacable. Most of the times, these people look just like guests.
So be careful. Make sure the gift table is not unattended or at a far away area. Lock the getting ready room or put the purses in a secure area. Photographers/videographers have an assistant watch out for your gear.

This was a really really fun wedding, with lots of energetic and fun people. Of course, that is not surprising as Leah and Tim are really fun people to start out with. I did their engagement pictures last year and now the wedding!

I had the honor of photographing Katie and Jason’s wedding at the Tracy Castle at Wilkeson, near Seattle Area. It was a very rainy day at first but then it opened up for a bit. The staff at the castle were incredibly quick and moved the wedding back to the lawn. Towards the end we got couple rain drops but it worked out, and we had some great images!
Victoria and Jason’s wedding was at St. Patrick’s Church in Portland, and then reception to follow at Lakeside Garden’s.
