Silcox Hut Wedding of Jane and Ralf!

Attendees including special needs transport users react to a trade show booth at American Public Transit Association Trade show and Conference

Silcox Hut weddings can be so different from each other! I have photographed Silcox Hut weddings in the summer, winter, winter storms, day time, evenings etc! And each is so unique! This Silcox Hut wedding was a summer daytime wedding and it was so fun to photograph when the visibility is so good. In the winter, a beautiful white snow blanket covers the mountain. I do however also really enjoy the stark contrast of rocks with remaining ice packs!

Silcox Hut is situated high on Mount Hood in Oregon, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and forests. The hut itself is cozy and rustic, accommodating a limited number of guests. This exclusivity lends itself to more intimate ceremonies and receptions, where every attendee feels part of a special event. Depending on the season, Silcox Hut can be accessed by snowcat during winter or via a shuttle van during the summer months. This seasonal variation adds an adventurous element to the Silcox Hut wedding experience, appealing to couples seeking a unique and memorable celebration. With its smaller size compared to traditional wedding venues, Silcox Hut allows for a more personalized, intimate and customized wedding experience. The fireplace is also an amazing fun experience, not to mention provides a much welcome warmth. Silcox Hut has a rich history, originally built in the 1930s as a warming hut for skiers. This historical charm adds character to the venue, enhancing the overall ambiance and making it a distinctive choice for couples who appreciate unique and meaningful settings.
