Here are some new baby and family portraits. My style is a more artistic, relaxed, capture-the-moment one as opposed to the traditional (boring) mall studio stuff and I am trying a more casual approach to portraits that is designed to capture moments while still making grandma and grandpa happy. Let me know what you think!

Here are couple quick ones from Vanessa and Ozgur’s Turkish style wedding at Timberline Lodge. David, Vanessa’s father, walked her down the aisle with Mt. Hood as the backdrop. Vanessa speaks Turkish quite fluently and was leading the belly dances on the dance floor while Ozgur did a great job dancing to Michael Jackson. More pictures coming soon when we finish editing the whole wedding.

Arian shot this wedding at Crown Ballroom which has a very unique look to it. Rose and Jon had a very cool idea about their wedding ceremony - everybody was arranged in a circle and they stood in the middle, at the center of a circle of rose petals.
You can see the full wedding here (password can be obtained from Rose and Jon)
Max train, as seen from Pythian Building where Crown Ballroom is located (and also Adriana Hill Grandballroom is there as well). Two great places for weddings!

Basak and Cem had a fun Turkish wedding at the Arista Ballroom! There was a lot of halay - or - Turkish line dancing, and great energy. Check out the photos! Arista Ballroom is a beautiful location as well and was a perfect fit for this fun wedding!

Last Tuesday was the “birthday” of blues dancing in Portland at Lenora’s room. Lots of people showed and it was a very fun night. I took some pictures in between dancing - or more like danced in between taking photos. As I mentioned in my previous Blues Dance picture post, these are darker to reflect the ambiance of the room.
To see the full set, go to Part 1 and Part 2.

I am doing more dance photography lately, especially of Portland’s growing blues dance scene. It helps me explore different styles of photography, try out new techniques, and make new connections. I try not to use any flash for the blues scene as it kills the mood. So some of these are darker than normal, but that is how the ambiance was. Taking pictures of fast moving dancers in extremely low light is very hard, so it is a great challenge and fun:
