Portland Art Museum’s recent exhibit, La volupté du goût: French Painting in the Age of Madame de Pompadour will be open from February 7 - March 17, 2009. To celebrate the exhibit, Portland Art Museum put on a gala. Curated by Philippe Le Leyzour, Director, Musée des Beaux-Arts, Tours, and Penelope Hunter-Stiebel, Consulting Curator of European Art, Portland Art Museum. The Portland installation design and interpretation were led by Chief Curator Bruce Guenther and Tina Olsen, Director of Education and Public Programs. This exhibition has received major organizational support from FRAME (French Regional and American Museum Exchange).
Vibrant Table did a tremendous job in decorating the event. Everything was top class. The resulting affect was amazing and it was one of the most wonderfully designed events we’ve ever seen produced from Vibrant Table! Music by Ruslan String Quartet and Design Band!
Here’s some of our favorite highlights from the event:

Recently we joined Lauren and Channing (of Portland Trailblazers) for a fun and romantic engagement session at their home along the Willamette River and down into the neighborhood and near the river. Of course, their two bulldogs (American and British bulldogs) joined us for the shoot as well - who can say no to these cute pups! We’ll be shooting their wedding later this summer.
Here some highlights from the engagement session -

Jill and Robert were married at the sophisticated Governor Hotel, located right in the heart of downtown Portland. A favorite spot for us! The evening started out with some getting ready photos of Jill and her bridesmaids, including Rob’s daughter. After some formal family photos in the lobby, Jill & Robert took off for some romantic photos around the hotel. It’s always a fun challenge for us to blend locations around the hotel we already know of and love, but to also find some hidden areas that we get to discover for the first time.
The ceremony took place in the intimate setting of the Renaissance Room. Immediately following, we moved into the Grand Ballroom for dinner, toasting, and dancing to both celebrate and bring in the new year!
In case you could not figure out, the bride and groom are big time Portland Trailblazers fans! Another cool idea: their cake topper was a pez dispenser. Their table settings had pictures of current and past Trailblazers.

Ophelia and Matthew were married at the gorgeous Adrianna Hill Grand Ballroom, having both their ceremony and reception taking place in the large open room. Chinese traditions such as a tea ceremony during the reception and special details found throughout the wedding day, made the whole event both extra special and unique to Ophelia and Matthew. We also took the time to walk the streets of downtown that evening - this made for some romantic shots of just the two of them, peppered in amongst Portland’s downtown scenery such as Old Town and the Max line.
Their choice of a warm winter red for the details looked gorgeous juxtaposed to the incredible blue ceiling in the ballroom itself. Blue Hour Flowers incorporated that same red into all the bouquet’s and the groomsmen boutonnieres, creating flowers and details that visually popped throughout the room.
We also had the pleasure of working again with Travis, of Shields Films. The evening was further complimented with music during both the ceremony and reception and was provided by Stephen, of Celebration Music & Events.
