Associate Coverage: Jessica and Cory’s Elegant Vineyard Wedding

Jessica started her day off at Hotel Lucia Boutique Hotel in downtown Portland getting ready with her girlfriends for her big day. She then met up with Cory at the gorgeous Garden Vineyards in Hillsboro, decked out with beautiful flowers from Tommy Luke, later in the afternoon. They both looked great!

Many of their guests were from back East, so it was fun to see them enjoy the lovely Oregon wine country. They had a beautiful ceremony that was officiated by Jessica’s close friend, and exchanged super cool rings (see below). As the day turned gradually to night all the guests enjoyed their time together over dinner with Jessica and Cory. Once it was fully dark the guests were treated to sparklers, fabulous cake from Papa Haydn, and an evening of dancing with All Wright Music.

Associate Coverage: Erin and Jeremy’s Wedding at Garden Vineyards

Erin and Jeremy were married at the extraordinary Garden Vineyards in Hillsboro, Oregon, which is becoming one of our favorite ever places to shoot.  It was also probably the hottest day of the summer! Everything looked amazing and things ran perfectly thanks to Soiree wedding planners - the flowers by Geranium Lake were beautiful, the Oregon Ducks themed wedding cake looked amazing, and the guests were wowed by food from Art of Catering. We also had the pleasure of working with Focal Point Video who are very easy to work with. Once the sun went down behind the green hills surrounding the vineyard the party started to heat up again!

Amanda and Brian at Garden Vineyards

Amanda and Brian tied the knot at Garden Vineyards on a perfect day for a vineyard wedding. They currently live in Tennessee but wanted to have a great outdoors wedding with Oregon wine country feel. The Air Show was going on at the same time as well as you can see in one of the pictures. The ceremony was beautifully officiated by Jim Stonier while the couple was surrounded by views of the vines and occasional flyby. Catering was done superbly by Art of Catering and the DJ was none other than Eric Wright who was a perfect fit.

Amanda and Brian, and also Father of the Bride, Chris,  took dance lessons from the maid of honor Stacey who is a professional dancer. You can see the results in the photos. Stacey and I also had one little dance at the urging of Amanda, and had a great swing dance! Needless to say Amanda and Brian rocked their first dance and Chris did a great job dancing with his daughter as well.

Carrie and Jayson’s Wedding at Chinese Garden

Portland Chinese Garden

Carrie and Jayson had a great wedding at Portland Lan Su Classical Chinese Garden with tons of unique details and beautiful weather. It started with a great getting ready time at Benson Hotel (amazing light as you will see) and then proceeded for the ceremony and reception to Portland Lan Su Classical Chinese Gardens.

They had moon cakes as well as wedding cake, a great band, and great food from Typhoon Thai Food Restaurant. C&J set up a table decorated with wedding favors (chopsticks and take-out boxes filled with goodies) in front of their parents and grandparents wedding pictures. During the wedding ceremony, a hummingbird paid a visit to the gazebo as you will see later in the pictures!

During the cake cutting, Carrie achieved  a record by smashing cake on two “grooms”. When they were ready to cut the cake, Jayson was nowhere to be found - after waiting for a while, Jayson’s brother stepped in to cut the cake, and promptly got smashed by cake in the face. When Jayson arrived, his fate was similar. You can check it out on the next pages. (Guests and friends of Carrie and Jayson can see the rest of images here - password from Carrie and Jayson)

Annie and Tom’s Wedding at Mar Plata and Villa de Roja in San Pancho

Annie and Tom took the plunge in San Pancho, Mexico. Well, the day after the wedding they took the plunge, into the swimming pool! You will see what I mean.
The wedding ceremony was at the garden of Villa de Roja at San Pancho (or San Francisco), overlooking the ocean with a beautiful sunset for accent!

We then proceed to Mar Plata restaurant, a beautiful restaurant, located right across the street (near Costa Azul Hotel as well).

Sayulita and San Pancho area has some great wedding planners, as I mentioned at Mercan and Joel’s wedding, and this was not an exception. Debbie Barran, of Down the Isle, did a great job at the rehearsal, wedding day and the breakfast the day after.

So more about the pool plunge and couple other photos taken the day after the wedding. I started offering day after sessions for my couples as part of some packages, especially works for multi-day destination weddings but this is not just limited to destination weddings. I have done some in Portland as well. It does not have to be the day after either. The idea is to do a fun photo shoot without the stress and time constraints of the wedding day. You can see some at Stephanie and Jared’s wedding (towards the end)and also Christina’s bridal portrait session. Another option I offer is something you can see at Mercan and Joel’s photos. We covered their welcome party the day before the wedding.
I also want to note that Villa de Roja and Mar Plata were fantastic locations. According to Virtual Vallarta, the prestigious American magazine Conde Nast Traveler ranked Mar Plata restaurant as a Hot Table, a classification of 95 new restaurants made by anonymous correspondents around 30 countries. Pretty cool for a restaurant in a tiny little town.

Annie’s dad secretly wrote, sang and recorded a song for her on his computer with multiple tracks! This is the cd:

Yanet and Jose’s Wedding on Dia de los Muertos

Yanet and Jose, both from Mexico, had their beautiful ceremony at the small church in the small plaza in Sayulita, Mexico. Their friends and family joined in for the occasion. It also happened to be Dia de los Muertos, a nation wide celebration in Mexico. There were many street artists performing in the plaza after the ceremony. The wedding party had reserved the classy and tasty Calypso restaurant above the plaza for their reception, so we had a birds eye view.
